![]() ![]() I dont HAVE to produce a finish product by a certain deadline and the only thing I'm paying for is paint. Reduce the color again (25%color/75%clear).Then finish it off with a bazillion coats of clear so when some douchbag runs his grocery cart into the side, I can just buff it out. IF I had a booth, I'd lay down the 100% base coat, and then add more clear, say a 50/50 mix to the next coat. My UNprofessional, but kinda logical thought process if *I* had the facilites: Patience I have. (this was two years ago so I dont remember the paint/system details). (Nevermind the small drip underneath he headlight area) But I went over it with a clearcoat even though the paint guy said it wasnt needed with this system. And I'll tell ya.the hack job *I* had, was a better color than the rest of the car. In fact, I had some help and I repainted the front fascia after the love bugs attacked it during a road trip. The clear is actually in the paint - which doesnt seem right to me.but I'm not an expert. What about a new coat of Inferno with a couple coats of clear over the top? Does the extra coats of clear darken it up a bit? If memory serves me correctly the OEM paint on these cars is a one-step process. There you go guys, I just told someone my one secret in life! LOL Its the only personal vehicle that I wanted that wasn't black, white or silver. She is still on my mind from time to time. Thats how I related to that Inferno Red SRT8 Charger that day. And a chance to take her out and have a relationship with her. So after that you never see her again and you wish you could just see her one more time to tell her how you feel. You want to go talk to her, but she is so pretty, you feel intimidated. That one on the showroom floor that day, is like a beautiful woman that you pass somewhere during the day. And the inferno red after that year didn't look the same. By that time there was no more new inferno red SRT8 Chargers. It would be 4 more years before I bought my 2010 SRT8 Charger that I have now. And so I bought a new Laramie Ram instead. But the first time I seen that 2006 Inferno Red SRT8 Charger on the showroom, I wanted it and I let my wife talk me out of buying it. I bought a 05 Magnum in August of 04 when they first came out, it was Patriot Blue. All my personal cars that my wife don't drive have always been white, silver or black. The dealership had a inferno red one on the showroom. ![]() (C) 2010 - PaintRef.Click to expand.Your right, I almost bought a 2006 SRT8 Charger when they first came out.
